Woodland Walk near Newquay
If you want to venture outside of Newquay, one lovely woodland walk we would recommend is Cardinham Woods near Bodmin.
Cornwall is probably most famous its golden sandy beaches but why not head out of town a little to one of the nearby woodland areas. Let the dog run off the lead as you marvel at the vast wooded area around you. There are also cycle tracks for those wishing to go slightly faster.
Watch as the leaves turn amber and hear the crunch as they fall under your feet at Tehidy, Cardinham and Respryn Woods or visit in spring to witness the first sight of daffodils as they sprawl up in search of sunlight.
These three woodland are all within a 40 minute drive of Newquay and are perfect for stretching your legs and to get those tails wagging.
Cardinham Woods also has a lovely little cafe well worth a visit for a Cornish cream tea or light lunch after your walk.
To get to Cardinham Woods, head towards the A30 eastbound until Carminow Cross. From here take the A38 in the direction of Liskeard. Within a couple of minutes take the first exit from the roundabout towards Cardinham Woods.
