Things are really shaping up at Newquay’s Lane Theatre for the summer season, with two productions well into rehearsals.
The first of the summer offerings comes in the form of Girl Band, a play written by Louise Roche, who also wrote Girls Night and Checkout Girls – both of which were produced by Newquay Dramatic Society to huge success.
Girl Band centres on a three piece girl band that comprises Sadie, Lois and Serena as they go through highs and lows in their relationships. There are even a few musical numbers thrown into the mix, making this a show that really does cover all bases.
Photographer, Carolyn Oakley caught up with the cast this week during a rehearsal at Lane Theatre as well as Director Susie Bundy. Rehearsals are in full swing for Girl Band, which opens Tuesday 2nd June.
The cast, crew and their director all put a tremendous amount of work into making the productions credible and entertaining.
The summer season begins with Girl Band, running from Tuesday 2nd July – Wednesday 29th July, while the second production; Looking for Love written by Raymond Hopkins and directed by Sheila Lines tells the story of the breakdown of a marriage and one woman’s attempts to recover from life’s setbacks. Looking for Love runs every Tuesday and Wednesday between 11th August – 7th October.
