The Maharajah Restaurant has been welcoming diners for over thirty-three years but never stops improving its facilities while maintaining its standards of perfectly prepared food.

Knowing Indian dishes are as diverse as its culture our chefs understand good cooking revolves around the appropriate use of aromatic seasoning. It is their expertise at subtly blending herbs and spices – such as cardamom, fennel and turmeric as well as the blends of curry and garam masal – that allows them to enhance, rather than overwhelm the flavour of the dish they are preparing.

It is fascinating to watch an Indian cook at work, with a palette of spices, skillfully sprinkling these powders in exact pinches into the dish. It is these complexities of regional food and our expertise in recreating authentic dishes that makes a visit to the Maharajah such an experience. We have an extensive vegetarian and vegan selection and will gladly prepare a dish you require that does not appear on the menu, time permitting.

Our quest is to bring the most traditional dishes from all corners of India to your table to maintain classic Indian recipes but also enhance what we offer by including some signature dishes to reflect the changing food trends in modern India.

Take-aways are available at a discount from menu prices but the quality and preparation is the same as that offered in the restaurant. The food travels in special re-usable, large, non-drip microwaveable containers and there is a free delivery service to homes and campsites for meals over £12 within a three miles radius of the Maharajah Restaurant. Over three miles a small charge applies.
