SUMMARY:Crantock Bale Push
DESCRIPTION:20 YEARS AND STILL ROLLING ON \nThe 20th BALE PUSH 2019 starts rolling in Crantock Village on Friday September 13th at 5pm\, and this year will once again be supporting many key Cornish projects close to the heart of Crantock village and making donations to the Sunrise Appeal\, The Cove Amenity Fund\, as well as other local groups and organisations. \n‘Crantock Bale Push would not take place at all were it not for the generosity and practical help and support of our many sponsors among local businesses and the residents of Crantock.’ said Chairperson\, Nigel Eustice.\n \n‘We expect to welcome an estimated 100 teams of four eager to roll straw bales around Crantock village. All starting at 5 pm with the Under 8’s followed by the Under 12’s\, Under 16’s\, also the Ladies race\, who all race each other over shorter distances’. \n‘Then\, of course\, the big ones the Open\, and the Veterans Races. Both races are over the full quarter of a mile through the village up and down hills\, pushing a full size round bale of straw\, weighing approximately 420lbs and measuring 4’ 6″ in diameter starting and finishing between the two village pubs\, The Old Albion and the Cornishman who also support the village so much socially\, especially on Bale Push night with live music from 1940’s Crooner Andy Marshall\, with late night entertainment in both pubs’. \n \nCrantock Bale Push has now become an essential part of Crantock life providing great fun\, excitement and healthy competition for all ages\, while also raising a great deal of money for local organisations and charities. The total raised by the Crantock Bale Push since 2000 now tops an astonishing £108\,500\, and all this money has been donated to Cornish people. \nRemember\, you don’t have to be mad to take part – but it helps!” \nVisit the Crantock Bale Push website for more details about how you can take part. \n

SUMMARY:Crantock Bale Push
DESCRIPTION:As many of you will know we always support Cornish based charities\, organisations and individuals. We feel it is important that all as the money is raised in Cornwall it should made available to help Cornish people. As there are so many good causes to support it is always difficult to make a final decision and this year has been no exception! \n\nHowever\, for the 2017 Bale Push we have chosen Crantock Christmas Lights\, Cubert School PTA and CLIC Sargent as our main organisations. Here is a little information about each one…. \n \nCRANTOCK CHRISTMAS LIGHTS \nIt was decided that Crantock Village needed new lights to brighten up our lovely village during the festive period. So\, a small group of merry fundraisers has set out to raise funds for to purchase new lights. \nWe have successfully applied for a grant of £500 from the Cubert and Crantock Community Benefit Trust and have a number of other projects on the go which will raise much needed funds to add to the “pot”! \n \nCUBERT SCHOOL PTA \nCubert School is extending its classroom provision and the new classrooms and play areas will be completed shortly. The PTA are at present very busy fundraising to provide new equipment for the play areas – they have lots of events planned this summer for example quizzes\, a Summer Fete and Duck Races at Holywell Beach. The Bale Push supported Cubert School Football Team as few year back so new built almost ready so we have decided to help! \nCLIC SARGENT \nWe have not supported CLIC Sargent for several years and decided that it was time to put this right! This fabulous charity provides a holistic approach to supporting children and their families\, with a network of support throughout the UK providing immediate help to those in need. The Royal Cornwall Hospital has a specially dedicated Ward\, treatment areas\, specialist nurses\, social workers and doctors to support the child and families from throughout the treatment process. CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children\, young people and their families. Our care teams have been providing specialist support across the UK for years. And CLIC Sargent care teams will fight tirelessly to limit the damage cancer causes. They will listen\, and ask the right questions\, so that they can provide the right support\, tailored to each young person and family. \n\nHow to enter:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll you need is a team of 4 \nAGE GROUPS \n\n8 & under\n12 & Under\n16 & Under\nLadies\nOpen Events\n180’s [combined ages]\n\nThe course is clearly marked for each age group. \nRegister before the event by contacting the Bale Push Organisers\, or register on the day at the start line. \nPlease get your entries in as soon as possible! \n\n\n\n\nEntry fees:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe encourage teams to seek their own sponsorship too!\n\n\nAge Group\nCost\n\n\n8 & under\n£5\n\n\n12 & under\n£5\n\n\n16 & under\n£5\n\n\nLadies\n£10\n\n\n180’s Veteran\n£10\n\n\nThe Open\n£10\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor more information about the Crantock Bale Push visit the official website here.
